Having a newborn at home is crazy! I've been there, I get it. But documenting those new little moments really is priceless. Those teenie toes, those squishy legs and those gassy smiles! And equally important is documenting the totally normal, not so glamorous moments as well - the adorable awkwardness of a sink bath, baby burps, sofa snuggles...believe me, those are the foggy memories you'll be happy to have to look back on later.
Sound overwhelming? Don't worry! It's my goal to make this as stress free as possible! I will come to you and all we will do is take photos of you doing what you do - being a parent. You will receive a prep guide full of helpful tips about how to prepare your family and your home, and don't worry, no cleaning service or hair and makeup are required! The real moments will mean more down the road.
This style of session is also perfect for "older" newborns, as they don't require much posing and a more alert baby can make for more engaging photos, capturing connection between the two of you. I recommend anywhere from one to 6 weeks. Sessions typically last 2-4 hours, leaving time for feedings and changes. If baby has siblings (even furry ones) I'm more than happy to include them!
POSES
If you just love those little sweet little newborn poses as well, I'm with you! I always bring along a few props and wraps. We will discuss your ideas in advance so I know what shots are most important to you. We also discuss details like color schemes and style and talk about what you hope to do with your images in the end - for instance nursery art, a family portrait or a beautiful baby album.
Something to note is that the younger the baby the easier they are to pose. Although we won't be attempting anything too ambitious like we might in a studio, a baby under 10 days will be much sleepier - so if you're looking for a pose-heavy gallery keep in mind your baby's age and please let me know when we speak. If you think you missed the window, there are still a number of achievable poses for "older" newborns too.

Family Film & Photo Storytelling
A truly unique and priceless way to encapsulate your family and what life is like at this exact moment in time, our family film and photo session is perfect for those who want to capture authentic family connections, messy moments, and real life. Consisting of a mix of pre-decided activities that are unique to your family and an off script shooting style, we are guaranteed to showcase teh essance of your family in a way you'll treasure. I shoot both film footage and photos during the session. The result are images fit for a beautiful storytelling album alongside a film that is sure to conjure emotions for years to come.
Family films are such an amazing way to capture the beautifully ordinary everyday moments and connections that we tend to take for granted. My art and photography is ever evolving, and what I've come to find I'm most passionate about it storytelling and preserving moments in time. Film gives life to the still images, stirs emotions and becomes so cherished. Being able to step back into a memory at any time is truly an amazing gift.
I offer two options for family film packages. Film only or my Photo & Film package that includes around 30-50 photos that are taken alongside filming and presented in a professional photo book. The photos are not stills of the video, but composed independently during our session.
Session are laid back and natural. They generally last 2-4 hours and can be as simple as going about your daily routine - waking up, snuggles, breakfast, getting dressed, playing etc. I suggest incorporating some type of activity, maybe something you love to do as a family - baking, a project, a trip to the park, washing the dog etc. I'm happy to travel with your family if you'd like to change locations. I provide little guidance and am more of a fly on the wall, observing and documenting those small moments and connections that naturally occur, leaving you with a genuine memory that is true to you and your unique family.
