BUILT FROM REAL EXPERIENCE

I’m not teaching IPS from theory or from something I tried once and turned into a course. I’ve been using this model in my own photography business for nearly a decade, refining the process through real client experience over and over again.

My name is Chelsea Hickey and when I first started, I was a low-cost, high-volume “shoot and burn” photographer heading straight toward burnout. I was working constantly, delivering galleries, moving on to the next session, and never really feeling like I was creating the kind of experience or business I truly wanted. Over time, IPS completely changed the way I approached both my business and my client experience.

Now, my business is intentionally built around fewer sessions, higher sales averages, and a process that feels personal, thoughtful, and genuinely helpful rather than awkward or overly sales-focused. My average sales typically range between $5,000-$7,000 per session, and while I specialize primarily in newborn and family photography, I use the same IPS structure and strategy across branding, headshots, beauty portraits, and other portrait sessions as well.

One of the things I’m most proud of now is being able to guide my clients from the very beginning of the process all the way through to finished artwork and a completed experience that feels meaningful and fully taken care of from start to finish. Clients constantly tell me how much they appreciate the guidance throughout the process and often thank me at the end for helping make everything feel simple, enjoyable, and far less overwhelming than they expected.

Sometimes the difference between a $500 sale and a $5,000 sale is simply having a better process and knowing how to guide people through it confidently.
